Emma and the team did the flowers for our wedding last Saturday, they were absolutely stunning and better than I'd ever imagined! I cried as they arrived!! Everyone was fab from start to finish, with the marquee to dress, the church, all the bridal party bouquets and hair flowers (including a stunning hair slide for me!) and the buttonholes everything went without a hitch and the timings were spot on! Thankyou all for going the extra mile! Literally! xxx

Review by Sarah Carr My husband and I got married at The Five Arrows Hotel last month. We had planned for a friend to organise our flowers but unfortunately that ended up falling through, so at reasonably short notice we got in contact with Emma and what a fabulous job she did. We gave her an idea of what we liked/disliked and she came back to us with the exact colours and styles that we loved. On the day of our wedding everything was done perfectly and professionaly and we couldn’t have asked for it to be any better!

The Flower Shed Oxford

Jemma was just amazing from start to finish! When we first met Jemma she was so welcoming and visited us into her home to discuss all the different ideas for the day. We weren't very clear with what we wanted for our day - but Jemma took all our ideas and turned it into something magical. I cannot recommend Jemma enough! She is an incredibly talented florist and the flowers exceeded all of our expectations. Jemma has such natural flair and style and her flowers will add a magical touch to your day. Thankyou Jemma for everything! Catherine & Darren

From the very beginning Jemma was professional, creative and supportive. We sent a few images of the color scheme we liked and in one meeting less than 2h we had the whole flower scheme worked out. The only way we were able to do that is because Jemma was so well prepared, passionate and so knowledgeable about her profession. On the day of the wedding we had every confidence that everything she would do was under control and better than we could have ever hoped it would be. And it was. And on top of all of that, she is such a lovely enthusiastic person who clearly loves what she does. We highly recommend her.

Flower Petals of Bicester

26 Ray Rd, Bicester OX26 2AF, UK – 07591 172590

I've ordered flowers on several occasions from Michelle and they have always been beautiful and of the highest quality. Michelle responds quickly to messages and delivers ahead of expectations. Highly recommended!

We have used Michelle at Flower Petals of Bicester on many occasions. So when it came to our wedding flowers there was no choice who we were going with. We had regular meetings to discuss what we wanted and the big day came around and the flowers and centre pieces were amazing. Michelle has done an excellent job as usual. Everyone commented on them. I'll add some pictures to her website for you all to see. Amy and I are really appreciative for all the help and effort Michelle put in for our big day. Thank you.

Tips - Caring for your flowers once they are delivered

Placing your flowers in vase half to two thirds full with lukewarm water, will help closed buds to start opening.

  • Be careful when un-wrapping a hand-tied bouquet as it is delivered in a water bubble to keep the flowers fresh.
  • Arranging your flowers in cold water should be avoided as this can reduce the their life in the vase.
  • Avoid puting flowers in metal or aluminium containers - glass is ideal. Keep your flowers in a cool location, away from draughts, direct heat or sunlight. Arrange once unwrapped
  • Your flowers may take up to 24 hours after being placed in water to reach their full potential.
  • Strip off all excess foliage and leaves below the water level to reduce any harmful bacteria within the water.
  • Bacteria can block the stem and stop the flowers taking up the water.unwrap. Flowers like their stems trimmed. So, trim them, at an angle with a knife (rather than scissors) by an inch or so. When trimming stems, always cut at an angle of roughly 45degrees; this increases the surface area allowing your flowers to absorb more water.
  • If a Rose starts to droop at the head, re-cut the stem, wrap the head in paper to support it upright and plunge 5cms of the stem into boiling water for about 30seconds. Cut the stem again and place in deep cold water for two hours.trim

Most orders are accompanied by a sachet of cut flower food which will encourage buds to open and help to prolong the life and beauty of your flowers. Top up regularly with water and flower food, removing any fading flowers. Ensure the floristry foam used in arrangements is moist and topped up daily; this helps to prolong the life and vibrancy of your arrangements.
